8th Annual Dialogue Dinner & Award Ceremony

On Thursday, October 11, the Peace Valley Foundation presented its first community services awards at its 8th Annual Dialogue Dinner. The Peace Valley Foundation is an Alabama based organization committed to promoting a better understanding and closer relationships between individuals and communities through building bridges among Turkish, American and other communities in the State of Alabama. By promoting mutual respect, acceptance, and dialogue the organization strives to bring together various individuals and groups to explore the richness of different faiths and cultures. As a Turkish based group, the experiences and history of the Turkish people are showcased to encourage world peace.

Delegation from Turkey visited UAB

As part of a trip that is organized by Istanbul Center, Peace Valley Foundation and Turkish American Chamber of Commerce, Southeast, a Turkish delegation including three governors, Mr. Nurullah Cakir from Corum, Mr. Abdulkadir Demir from Denizli, Mr. Mvlut Bilici from Kayseri  and two high government officials, executive directors of Istanbul Center and Peace Valley Foundation visited University of Alabama at Birmingham. Governors invited UAB president Carol Garrison and provost Linda Lucas to Turkey to improve bidirectional academic relationships.

Distinguished Speaker Series - Tuscaloosa

Peace Valley Foundation and Turkish Student Association organized Distinguished Speaker Series at the Universty of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Topic was "Turkey and the Ottoman Empire in European History"

Trip to Turkey 2011

This year again,  Peace Valley Foundation organized intercultural dialogue trips to Turkey and invited Alabamians from many different backgrounds, traditions and professions. Christian, Jewish and Muslim clergy, professors, journalists, artists, politicians and business leaders spend ten days together while visiting historic Turkish cities and sites.

The Power of We

Peace Valley Foundation was recognized for their dedication to promoting better understanding and closer relations between individuals and communities, building bridges between the Turkish, American and other cultures through dialogue and education. Interfaith Mission Service of Huntsville Alabama presented 2012 Rabbi Jeffrey L. Ballon Interfaith Award to Peace Valley Foundation during the annual awards dinner on May 1, 2012.

4th Dialogue Dinner

Birmingham, AL. Our Center hosted the 4th Annual Dialogue Dinner on Thursday, January 21st, 2010 at the Harbert Center in Birmingham, AL. The theme of the dinner is “Who is my neighbor?”
